The Greater AENP Project is financed by the Global Environment Facility, specializing in ecological and socio-economic analyses required to drive the process of implementation. The project aims to guarantee the long-term environmental conservation of this spectacular national park, with goals such as reducing critical threats to the park and maximizing efficiency in terms of Conservation Management.
The project also aims to promote a sustainable and inclusive Eco Tourism industry and to promote capacity building in surrounding communities and institutions. Working on this project for three years, the park has seen wonders, expanding greatly and now even more rich in biodiversity, conserving five of South Africa's nine biomes including the Fynbos and Albany Thicket.
