Travel Smart Programme, City of Cape Town

Originally aimed at reducing the trips travelled by its own staff, the City’s Travel SMART programme was extended as a pilot project to a number of large employers in the central city to assist them to create a mindshift among their own staff and provide information – and where possible, options – to encourage the use of more sustainable ways of travelling to and from work. Through the City of Cape Town website, the Travel SMART programme can now be accessed by all Capetonians in order to help reduce SOV and assist everyone across the City to become Travel SMART.
