She has 15yrs of experience working in Communities as Environmental Health Practitioner for Dept of Health at the. She served as acting manager in the district for two years dealing with all aspects of environmental, health and safety and managing a staff complement of about 58 personnel, Miss Nkabinde worked with International companies such as Amref in community water and sanitation projects at Jozini outlying areas, she then joined an NGO,  where she was Project manager for rural development, she dealt with projects to the value of R16 Million.
