Institute of Tropical Forest Conservation (ITFC)

The Institute of tropical forest conserrvation (ITFC) located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (South-western Uganda) is as a post-graduate conservation oriented research institute, coordinating ecological research, monitoring and training in Uganda's mountain gorilla homelands including the Ugandan portion of the Virunga Volcanoes. Researchers from around the world are attracted by ITFC’s reputation as a centre for pursuing globally important issues in a unique setting and with impressive facilities. We welcome not only researchers and students but all visitors to the forest and its rich wildlife.
